Confidant of Tzipi Livni Haim Ramon explained to Haredim at a Friday Forum conference last Thursday that  there was no was way to demand they serve in the IDF. “Many don’t serve: Arabs, Religious girls, Yeshiva students and pacifists. The best we can expect is to give a full IDF exemption to Yeshiva students, and encourage them to gain employment. I also recommend cancelling the meager monthly state stipend for Yeshiva students, to enable awarding IDF soldiers serving three years 150,000 NIS upon release.”
