Six-year-old R, from northern Israel accidentally inhaled a plastic toy squeaker into her right bronchial tube, and would squeak with every breath. Rambam hospital ER staff couldn’t detect the object with X-ray imaging and used a camera-equipped endoscope instead. The squeaker was safely removed. “The child was, fortunately never at risk. Parents must supervise playtime, and distance small objects from their children,” explained the medical staff.
