Chairman Naftali Bennett of Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home-New National Religious Party) decried, Monday, the lack of significant negotiations between his party and the Likud/Yisrael Beyteinu bloc which has been entrusted with forming the next government. Addressing the party's Knesset faction, Bennett said, "Habayit Hayehudi has time. The people of Israel don't. Yesterday it was announced that the economy has entered a slowdown. There are many social, political and economic matters that can't wait for the establishment of a government and it must be done as soon as possible.
Expressing a desire to faithfully serve the people and noting that the party has always supported Binyamin Netanyahu to lead the government, Bennett added, "As soon as they decide to negotiate, we can wrap up a government within 24 hours. We must first ascertain what the basic guidelines are and then it will be possible to enter the government. It's important that we agree on the principles prior [ministerial] positions. To date we have not received essential things, such as basic guidelines in order to negotiate."
