The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Monday trading with modest losses in mixed trading. About a quarter of an hour into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,089.12, down .06 percent, while the same percentage loss meant a posting of 1,090.50 for the TA 100, including a .16-percent loss to 1,222.64 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 edged up .05 percent to 464.04.
Leading the gainers was the oil and natural-gas index, which rose .57 percent to 1,131.92, followed by the insurance issues, which stood at 1,275.55, up .45 percent, as the financial institutions advanced .16 percent to 1,116.88, tempered by a .11-percent decline to 1,172.63 by the bank stocks. The real-estate index stood at 322.61, up .32 percent, and the biomed issues advanced. 06 percent to 849.72, while the rest of the technology stocks stood at 324.31, down .03 percent, and the communications stocks fell . 64 percent to 500.53.
