Police Lie, Suspect Let Off

A man accused of attacking a female volunteer police officer was found not guilty Sunday after the judge found that police volunteer witnesses had coordinated their testimony. The judge accused the volunteer officers of lying, as well.

“They refreshed their memories together, read other witnesses’ statements and did not speak the truth regarding key points,” the judge found. “Factual findings must be based on firm ground, with witnesses who can be relied on. That is not the case here.”
