MK Dan Meridor spoke out MK Aryeh Deri of Shas telling Channel 10 that someone who has been convicted of a crime should not serve in the Knesset. 

"I think that a person convicted of an offense, such as Knesset member Deri, even if he is permitted by law, should not be a public servant,"he  said.

"I ask myself, What is the message we pass on to children about politics and public service? We should not create a situation in which crimes are thing which pass and we move on from," he added.
