Iran is blaming Israel for the assassination of General Hassan Shatri despite reports that his death was carried out by the Syrian opposition.
A statement by members of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Iranian Parliament claimed that "the Zionist regime will receive a crushing response in due course to the savage assassination of General Shatri."
