Two people were killed in two separate car accidents on Saturday.
A 60-year-old was killed after the vehicle he was driving crashed into a tree on the road between Shfaram and Bir al-Maksur. Paramedics from Magen David Adom rushed to the scene and attempted to administer CPR but were forced to pronounce the man dead.
Earlier in the day a 60-year-old woman was killed and four people were injured when two cars crashed into each other at a highway junction near Ashkelon. One person was seriously wounded and three others, including a baby, were lightly to moderately wounded. An investigation revealed that one of the cars ran a red light.
