A joint conference of the Ministry of Interior and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants took place. The meeting for fiscal year of 2012 focused on three main topics: senior salaries in local authorities, contracts with suppliers and providing subsidies to third parties.
 
The conference was attended by about 400 accountants who perform audits of local authorities from the Ministry of the Interior. Dr. Shuki Amrani, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of the Interior stressed the importance of promoting good governance audit and transparency. He also advocated the need to increase the effectiveness of audit findings as a management tool in decision making at the local and national levels.
