Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange showed modest losses at the start of trading on Tuesday. About 40 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,087.18, down .08 percent, while the same percentage loss meant a posting of 1,088.05 for the TA 100, including a drop of .13 percent to 1,216.84 by the TA 25 most-widely-issues.
The lone positive notes were struck by the communications stocks, which edged up .06 percent to 499.07, and the insurance index, which doubled the percentage to 1,259.04 as the financial institutions stood at 1,105.45, down .42 percent, including a .74-percent loss by the bank issues to 1,160.96. The real-estate stocks slipped .06 to 323.52, while the biomed index stood at 859.18, down three tenths of a percent, and the rest of the technology issues declined .49 percent to 333.91. The oil and natural-gas stocks stood at 1,116.17, down .32 percent.
