Chairwoman Tzipi Livni of the Hatenu'ah party said, Monday, that the diplomatic process with the Palestinian Authority was the central issues in the party's coalition negotiations. Speaking to the first pre-plenum session of the party's sworn-in Knesset faction, she said, "We are negotiating a coalition without spin and coupons. Hatenu'ah is [the movement] which will truly lead to diplomatic negotiations. Only when this gate opens, will we bring up the other issues."
Regarding reports she would bring the party into the coalition as a fig leaf for the Netanyahu government to hide behind, she said, "There are those who take root in the branches of the fig tree. We talk about the fruit. That will be the real test - Will there be the real fruit of negotiations? If not, we will fight about this in the opposition."
