MK Lavie to Move for Changes at the Western Wall

Member of Knesset Aliza Lavie (Yesh Atid) said, Monday morning, that she intends to act, as soon as possible, "for a new arrangement at the Western Wall [of the Temple in Jerusalem] to make it right for all of Israeli society and not just one sector or another." Reacting to the arrest of 10 members of "Women of the Wall" for violating a Supreme Court order against their organizing prayers at the holy site, Doctor Lavie said , "It is unfortunate to see how the Western Wall, which is supposed to symbolize peace and brotherhood among the people of Israel, has become the scene of constant confrontation, which often spills over into  violence." She also said, "The consistent pattern of the Women of the Wall, running explicitly against the High Court ruling is not the way to solve the problem. It is necessary to reach an arrangement which is right for the big and diverse crowds that come in their numbers to the Wall."
