Yesh Atid, Habayit Hayehudi Oppose New Ya'alon Plan

The Yesh Atid and Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home-New National Religious Party) parties are opposed to a plan outlined by Strategic Affairs Minister Moshe Ya'alon for the induction of yeshiva students into the military or national volunteer service, according to a Monday-morning report by the Ma'ariv daily. It was reported, Sunday, that Likud-Beyteinu plans to present a new plan called the "improved Ya'alon outline", intended to bring about agreement between Yesh Atid, Habayit Hayehudi and the hareidi-religious parties, but Yesh Atid and Habayit Hayehudi said they would not agree to a plan based on the Ya'alon outline.

Yesh Atid said it would not waive its overriding principle that it is the military which decides who it will enlist and not the rabbis.
