Erekat Denies Netanyahu-Abbas Meeting Scheduled

Senior Palestinian Authority (PA) negotiator Saeb Erekat denied, Sunday, that efforts are being made to coordinate a meeting between PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and United States President Barack Obama during Obama's upcoming visit. Doctor Erekat said the PA had not received any information from the U.S. about such a meeting.

The New York Times reported, Sunday evening, that President Obama was only supposed to announce the visit during his State of the Union message, Tuesday evening, but the information leaked during last week's visit of an American advance team to Israel. According to the report, he will spend two days in Jerusalem, make the traditional visit to Yad Vashem and either address the Knesset or make a speech at one of Israel's universities.
