Executive Director Sagi Keisler of the Samaria (Shomron) Residents' Council filed a complaint, Sunday, with the Police Investigation Department, claiming that officers who were assigned to maintain the integrity of the voting in the Arab sector on the day of the recent Knesset election deliberately abused their positions. Other suspicions of election fraud in the sector are already under investigation.
The council sent hundreds of representatives to serve on poll committees and to act as observers in the Arab sector. They reported cheating and vote forgery which resulted in higher-than-actual voter turnout, and even an attempt to get one of the volunteers to look the other way. Keisler himself reported he was approached to "cut the cake" at the end of the voting. An officer to whom he reported the offer said he would enter the precinct after it closed but left the scene five minutes earlier.
