Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations Visit

A delegation of over 100 American Jewish leaders arrives in Jerusalem this week for the 39th annual mission of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. Executive Vice Chairman Malcolm Hoenlein said, “This Conference is designed to allow us to hear from Israel’s political, military and social leaders so we can devise specific ways to proactively work together to strengthen Israel around the world while also being more cognizant of the very real threats posed by our common enemies.”

The mission will feature addresses from Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, President Shim'on Peres, Yesh Atid Party Chairman Yair Lapid, Hatenu'ah Party Leader Tzipi Livni, Chairman Naftali Bennett of Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home-New National Religious Party), US Ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat, Supreme Court President Asher Grunis and other parliamentary, military and public figures. The delegation arrives in Israel following a visit to France where they met with President Francois Hollande, Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault, Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, and other top French leaders, as well as members of the Jewish community in terror-stricken Toulouse, which addressed the current situation of the Jewish community in France, the rise of anti-Semitism, the changes in the Middle East and interfaith relations, among other things.
