Two Metric Tons of Unhealthy Fish Seized

A tractor-trailer carrying frozen fish whose safe-consumption date had passed was discovered, Sunday, at a pre-marketing veterinary-inspection station in the Gush Dan area, near Tel Aviv. Stickers with new expiration dates had been put over the true expiration dates by the importer, in violation of the law, posing the risk of food poisoning to anyone who would eat the fish.

The discovery resulted in an inspection of the importer's warehouse, which revealed more than two metric tons (2,000kg/4,400 pounds) of fish unfit for human consumption.
