The home of the Fogel family in Itamar has become an unofficial memorial site visited by at least 30,000 Israelis from across the political and religious spectrum, Samaria (Shomron) Jewish community leaders report. Many people participating in organized tours of the region have put in personal requests to see the family’s home and the nearby Mishkan Ehud building built in the memory of slain family members.
Five members of the Fogel family – father Ehud, mother Ruti, 11-year-old Yoav, 4-year-old Elad, and three-month-old Hadas – were murdered by terrorists from the nearby PA town of Awad nearly two years ago. The terrorists entered the family home on a Friday evening, during the Jewish Sabbath, after the family had gone to bed.
Three children survived the horrific attack.
