Jerusalem police are on very high alert as the Beitar Jerusalem team plans to play Bnei Sakhnin. Fans of the two rival teams have clashed in the past.
Sunday’s game follows weeks of tension between a small group of Beitar fans and team management over the decision to add two Muslim players to the team. On Friday the team’s training building in Jerusalem was torched.
Security at the Sunday game will include hundreds of officers, among them members of elite forces.
