Shekel Up; Yen Outpaces Pound; Dollars Mixed, Euro Down

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .191 percent in mixed trading, Friday, against the other featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.695, up .217 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro declined .913 percent to 4.9572 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.8153, up .362 percent, while 100 Japanese yen jumped 1.66 percent to 3.9937 shekels. The Australian dollar rose .152 percent to NIS 3.8164, while its Canadian counterpart declined .261 percent to 3.7008 shekels and the South African rand was fixed at NIS .4141, down .241 percent.
