Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchanges posted modest to moderate gains, Thursday to end the trading week. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,079.13, up. 63 percent, with the same percentage increase meaning a posting of 1,210.46 for the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues as the TA 100 rose .61 percent to 1,081.17. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 climbed 1.52 percent to 459.33.
Leading the gainers was the insurance index, which advanced 1.85 percent to 1,266.99 as the financial institutions finished the day at 1, 118.66, up 1.47 percent, including a gain of 1.44 percent to 1,178.48 by the bank issues. The biomed stocks gained 1.25 percent to 856.43, while the rest of the technology index stood at 330.67, up .61 percent. The communications issues rose 1.08 percent to 502.98, followed by the Ma'ala organization's list of socially responsible companies, which closed at 918.35, up .92 percent. The oil and natural-gas stocks advanced .79 percent to 1,134.04, while the real-estate index ended the day at 320.60, up .55 percent.
