Israeli Schools Remember Gush Katif this Week

This week schools across the country remembered Gush Katif, the bloc of Jewish communities in Gaza that were forcibly evicted by the Israeli government in 2005. The Ministry of Education instituted an annual classroom learning of the issue.
Lea Zicari, a former resident who now serves as a project manager told Arutz Sheva news on Wednesday that many schools have been discussing the unique agriculture, organic farming, and lifestyle that existed in the communities.
Gaza was home to several ancient Jewish communities and a cemetery and synagogue still exist there. In 1948 several Jewish communities were destroyed during the war with Egypt.
