The leader of a Tunisian opposition party was fatally shot outside his home in Tunis on Wednesday, sparking a 1,000-person protest outside the interior ministry.
Chokri Belaid was the leader of the Unified Democratic Nationalist party and a vocal opponent of the Islamist-led government.
Following his death, protesters called for the disposal of the government, chanting "Shame, shame Chokri died", "Where is the government?", and, "The government should fall".
