A massive 8.0 magnitude earthquake off the Solomon Islands generated a tsunami in the South Pacific on Wednesday, damaging dozens of homes.
According to local officials, two 1.5-meter (4 foot, 11-inch) waves hit the western side of Santa Cruz Island, damaging around 50 homes. As of yet there have been no reports of injuries or deaths as villagers headed for higher ground.
