Eitan Broshi was elected on Tuesday evening to head the kibbutz movement.
Broshi won 60% of the vote and beat former Meretz MK Avshalom (Abu) Vilan, who received about 38% of the vote, and Nimrod Madar, who received about 2% of the votes.
Broshi is a member of Kibbutz Gvat in northern Israel and up until recently served as outgoing Defense Minister Ehud Barak’s advisor on issues relating to Judea and Samaria.
