Veteran Knesset member Binyamin (Fouad) Ben Eliezer devoted much of his speech at the 19th Knesset inauguration to attacking the previous government, especially in regards to their approach towards negotiations with the Palestinian Authority.
"The Iron Dome might be powerful but peace is even more powerful and this we must pursue relentlessly. It is up to us to be determined to end the conflict with our neighbors and we must do it for our children and for our grandchildren," he added.
"The choice is between a Jewish State and the entirety of the country. The U.S., Europe and the official Palestinian leadership support a two-state solution but the reality on the ground is making this solution unrealistic day by day," said Ben-Eliezer.
