The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange started Tuesday with small gains in mixed trading. About 40 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,061.65, up .05 percent from Monday's close, while the same percentage increase meant a posting of 1,064,17 for the TA 100, despite a drop of .05 percent to 1,194.96 by the TA 25 most-widely invested issues.
Leading the gainers were the communications stocks, which stood at 492.88, up .48 percent, followed by the biomed index, which rose .44 percent to 838.34, while the rest of the technology issues stood at 326.03, down .04 percent. The real-estate stocks slipped .03 percent to 314.38, while the oil and natural-gas index stood at 1,115.05, down three tenths of a percent. The financial institutions declined .51 percent to 1,083.25; the banking component standing at 1,146.85, down .52 percent, while the insurance issues fell .79 percent to 1,200.10.
