2 Arrested for Smuggling Convicted Murderer to Syria

Two residents of the Israeli Arab localities of Jaljulya and Tamra face a remand hearing in the Nazareth Magistrates Court, Tuesday, following their arrest on Monday on suspicion of helping smuggle convicted killer Muhammad Yassin over the Syrian border. Yassin was on leave from a 25-year sentence handed down in a 2006 murder.

Following their arrest at the border, the suspects admitted to smuggling Yassin and a youth who was suspected in the killing. The two had been suspected of planning to smuggle drugs via the border.
