Saeed Mortazavi, the former general prosecutor in Tehran, was arrested by Iranian authorities late Monday, according to the official Fars news agency. No reason was given.

In 2010, a parliamentary board of inquiry held Mortazavi responsible for the death, by torture of three demonstrators.
