Senator John McCain compared Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to a monkey on Monday, after Ahmadinejad said he wanted to be the first Iranian in space. Responding to reports, last week, that the Islamic Republic had launched a monkey into orbit, the Arizona Republican asked readers on the Twitter social Website, "So Ahmadinejad wants to be the first Iranian in space - wasn't he just there last week?"
