Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu revealed his goals for the next four years at the beginning of the weekly cabinet meeting Sunday. The government’s top priority will be preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, he said.
In addition, he said, there are three main issues that the government will need to address in the first year: the creation of a “responsible” budget that lowers the cost of living, increasing equality in the share various sectors of the public bear in the burden of military service “without creating a rift in society,” and leading a “responsible” diplomatic process vis-à-vis the Palestinian Authority.
“We must tackle these three missions at the same time,” he said. “Reality requires it, time requires it, and it can be done only by a unity government.”
