Half of the factories in the Migdal Hatefen industrial region in the western Galilee do not meet Israeli or international standards regarding limits on pollution, according to a report compiled by the Citizens for the Environment in the Galilee organization and publicized by Reshet Bet. The report looked at 10 factories in the region.

Investigators from the group found that the factories did not perform required tests, particularly regarding air quality.

The Ministry for Environmental Protection responded, saying that it conducted many inspections of Galilee factories over the past year, including surprise checks.
