Terrorists on Saturday killed 23 people and injured at least eight in a raid on a Pakistani army camp in the country’s volatile northwest region - in a tribal area used by the Pakistani Taliban and Al Qaeda as a primary base of operations.
Armed with rocket-propelled grenades, automatic rifles and suicide explosive vests, the terrorists converged on the camp at about 3:45 a.m. and engaged in a shootout that lasted more than two hours.
Most of the dead were security personnel. The terrorists also broke into a nearby house and killed a family of ten - four men, three women and three children.
12 terrorists were also killed, with at least two of them wearing suicide vests.
