Former mayor Ed Koch of New York died Friday morning of congestive heart failure at New York's Presbyterian-Columbia Hospital. The son of Jewish immigrants from Poland was 88.

The New York Times reports that a biographical film entitled "Koch" was set to debut on Friday.
