Disorders continued, Thursday, in Cairo's Tahrir Square, ahead of efforts by opponents of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi to mobilize masses to the streets on Friday to call for his removal from office. Clashes were reported between demonstrators and security forces. Egyptian media reported that authorities arrested 12 people, including a young woman, who tried to storm the Cairo District Council Building and set it on fire.
During the afternoon hours, the General Prosecutor's Office ordered the arrest of youths who belong an anarchist group that calls itself the "Black Bloc' and have it declared a terror group. The anarchists, among Morsi's secular opponents, wear black masks and have been seen, lately, engaging in violent clashes with security forces.
