The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the trading week, Thursday, with modest losses in mixed trading. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,044.37, down .06, and the same percentage decline meant a posting of 1.177.36 for the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues, as the TA 100 slipped .08 percent to 1,046.72. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 rose .49 percent to 438.15.
Leading the gainers was the biomed index, which rose .93 percent to 826.57, while the rest of the technology issues finished the day at 324.52, down .01 percent. Next came the communications stocks, which advanced .86 percent to 497.61. With the bank index closing at 1,119.32, up .17 percent, the financial institutions rose .19 percent to 1,060.70, despite a .45-percent drop to 1,172.50 by the insurance stocks. The real-estate index ended the day at 310.73, down .16 percent, while the oil and natural-gas issues were the worst hit, slumping 1.02 percent to 1,099.59.
