Woman Complains of ‘Financial Abuse’

A woman from northern Israel has made a unique claim in a divorce case, Maariv/nrg reports. She is accusing her husband of abuse based on his strict control of the family finances.

She told the court that her husband frequently checked her water use, required her to report any expenditure of more than 50 shekels, and required her to get his written permission before buying food.

The case could set a precedent for divorces in which control of finances played a part.
