Rabbi Shai Gefen of the Eretz Yisrael Shelanu (Our Land of Israel) movement explained why he decided to back Naftali Bennett and the Bayit Yehudi (Jewish Home) party in an interview Tuesday with Arutz Sheva.
The movement formerly backed small right-wing parties, some of which did not enter Knesset, he said. “We realized that we could not allow ourselves another split in the right-wing camp, and another failure,” he explained. The Jewish Home party “has wonderful Jews like Uri Ariel, Rabbi Ben-Dahan and Zevulun Kalfa,” he added.
The Eretz Yisrael Shelanu movement was criticized online in recent days following the Otzma Leyisrael party’s failure to enter Knesset.
