The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday trading with modest losses in mixed trading. About 45 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,060.94, down .17 percent, while the TA 100 declined .18 percent to 1,064.25, including a .22 percent drop to 1,194.72 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 rose a tenth of a percent to 437.91.
Leading the gainers was the communications index, which climbed 1.59 percent to 502.88, followed by the biomed issues, which stood at 823.17, up .98 percent, while the rest of the technology stocks fell .19 percent to 328.14. The oil and natural-gas index stood at 1,133.86, while the real-estate index slipped .01 percent to 317.57. The financial institutions stood at 1,076.66, down .34 percent. The insurance component fell .45 percent to 1,198.52, while the bank issues stood at 1,140.43, down .46 percent.
