National Security Advisor to Russia to Discuss Syria

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has sent National Security Advisor Ya'akov Amidror on a lightning trip to Russia for talks with Amidror's counterpart, Nikolai Patrushev, regarding the latest developments in the fighting in Syria and the chemical weapons in the Damascus government's possession, according to a Monday-morning report by the Ma'ariv daily.

Amidror is also supposed to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. Amidror is expected to ask that Russia help efforts to prevent Syria's chemical weapons from leaking into the hands of Lebanese terror group Hizbullah which, like Russia, supports the regime of President Bashar Al-Assad.
