The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange finished the week's first day of trading with modest losses in mixed trading. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,058.68, down .15 percent, while the TA 100 declined .19 percent to 1,061.95, including a three tenths of a percent drop to 1,192.81 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The 50 stocks just outside the TA 100 rose .55 percent to 437.68.
Leading the gainers was most of the technology index, which ended the day at 326.99, up 1.25 percent, while the biomed issues lost .43 percent to 806.84. The insurance stocks advanced .44 percent to 1,207.41 as the financial institutions finished at 1,077.28, down .95 percent, including a 1.6-percent slump to 1,134.45 by the bank index. The real-estate issues closed at 315.94, down .12 percent, while the oil and natural-gas stocks fell .93 percent to 1,144.74. The communications index was the worst hit, ending the day at 504.90, down 2.08 percent.
