The Israeli government may change, but the Palestinian Authority’s demands will not, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said, speaking at a conference in Addis Ababa. “We will continue to demand the same thing – a freeze in the settlements, the release of prisoners, and a complete final agreement solution – including Jerusalem, the refugees, and an Israeli withdrawal to the 1967 border,” he said.
Abbas has insisted that Israel freeze all construction east of the 1949 armistice line and agree in principle to give the PA Judea, Samaria and Gaza before sitting down for talks.
