Iran’s Media Criticizes Rulers over Executions

Iranian media outlets have been critical of the country’s rulers over the execution of two young men convicted of armed robbery, the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center reports. The media has pointed out that while most thieves are treated harshly, the regime is lenient with judges and other public officials involved in financial crimes and other corruption.

Media outlets also accused the government of ignoring its own part in the rising crime rate. Crime has been up in Iran in wake of an economic crisis.
