Lieberman Wants to Keep Foreign Ministry

Yisrael Beytenu head Avigdor Lieberman has asked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to reserve the Foreign Ministry portfolio for his party, Maariv/nrg reports. Lieberman himself may not be able to keep the position due to legal proceedings against him.

Netanyahu reportedly plans to put the ministry aside for Lieberman for four months while waiting to see if he will be allowed to resume his work in politics after trial.

Netanyahu is planning to form the next coalition government, a process that involves offering ministries to other parties in exchange for their agreement to sit in the coalition.
