The Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has announced that 30 artists will compete for the right to represent Israel in this year's Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Malmo, Sweden. It's the 40th year that Israel is taking part. In what the IBA described as unprecedented response, hundreds of songs were received as candidates.
The Israeli final is scheduled for March 7th. Participating will be the three top finishers from telecasts February 26-28th and a tenth candidate will be chosen on March 3rd in a competition between the 4th-place finishers from the earlier broadcasts.
