Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, the spiritual leader of the Shas party, decided on Thursday night that the party's three leaders - Eli Yishai, Aryeh Deri and Ariel Atias - will lead the negotiations on entering the coalition together.
"You cannot ignore the fact that the negotiations also have personal aspects. Deri is close to Lieberman, Yishai to Netanyahu and Ariel has his own connections and special characteristics," said a senior official at the rabbi's home, explaining the decision.
