While the Shabak (Shin Bet, General Security Services) Israel Security Agency noted a sharp decline in domestic deaths due to terrorism during 2012, attacks against Israeli targets were up, as were the arrests of those who would carry them out. Prominent among the attacks were the murders of five Israelis and a Bulgarian bus driver in Burgas, Bulgaria, the attack on the car of the wife of Israel's military attache in New Delhi, and simultaneous attack on an Israeli target in Tblisi, Georgia. Also cited was the murder of a rabbi and three children in Toulouse, France.
Among the unprecedented number of arrests of Hizbullah and Iranian Revolutionary Guards were those of Hizbullah activists in Bangkok and Cyprus who targeted tourists and two members of the Revolutionary Guards who were arrested in Kenya. An Israeli airplane and an Israeli ship were also targeted.
