“The Land of Israel Demands a High Moral Standard”

The Rabbi of Ramat Gan, Rabbi Yaakov Ariel explains the significance of Tu Bishvat, “The Land of Israel is not only territory. It is Divinely consecrated land, with special Torah Laws like priestly gifts, agricultural gifts for the needy, Shmittah and the Jubilee Year. Our sages praise the land, ‘One who dwells in it is bonded with G-d’, and the Land also is given with a Divine condition demanding a high moral and spiritual standard. These are prerequisites for a successful society in Israel.”
