The Palestinian Authority is attempting to assess the Israeli election results and their influence on continuation of the "peace process" and sources in the PA contacted Israli friends to find out more about Lapid's views on political issues, reports the Hebrew freebie Yisrael Hayom.

A highranking PA official told the newspaper that while Lapid has said that he is for two states for two peoples, he announced his candidacy in Ariel [in Samaria] and is close to Naftali Bennett in his views, so they are not optimistic.
