The Lod District Court has convicted Israel Railways of causing death through negligence. The verdict relates to a 2006 train crash in which five people were killed.

The accident occurred near Beit Yehoshua, north of Herzliya. A Haifa-bound train hit a truck that was stuck on the tracks, sending the train off the rails. Israel Railways was blamed for not having a system in place to alert the train driver of the obstacle in time.
